We’re Oregon residents with a collective 24 years in the cannabis industry, and we’re so excited to start putting our knowledge and care into a fantastic dispensary like TJ’s!

After spending the early part of our careers helping other teams grow their cannabis businesses, we decided we are ready for a project of our own, in our own state. With our friends and family around us saying, ”We’ll help – when are you guys going to do it already?!?” we knew it was finally the right time. (Thank you guys!)

If you’re already a supporter of TJ’s, thank you, and we can’t wait to meet you in the shop one of these days!  You’re likely looking for reassurance from us that the things you already love will stay the way they are. Rest assured, we’re being extremely thoughtful about any changes we make. It’s our goal to maintain the aspects you already love, and to improve things that will enhance product quality and your overall experience.

Like flower for instance – one of the first things we’re doing is going through our flower inventory and setting new standards for how it’s stored and how long it’s on the shelf so that it makes it into your hands at its freshest, terpy-est state. When someone asks you, “Hey where should I go for the best flower around?” we want you to think TJ’s.

Thank you for continuing to support our amazing budtenders and staff who have been working their butts off to help us with the transition. We know they’ve been undersupported for years now, and we’re implementing new systems so that they’re well taken care of and get to participate in the decisions that will affect the people they serve. We know that if you’re not taking good care of your people, not much else matters.

You've got questions, We've got answers:

Q: Will I still get my industry discount?

A: Yup – on everything, all the time.

Q: Will I still get my (fill in the blank) discount that I’ve been getting for years?

A: Yes! We know how important this is to you!

Q: Are my TJ's loyalty points still good?

A: Of course!  Wow, that would be really messed up if we didn’t honor the energy you’ve already put into TJ’s… bring’em on in – we can’t wait to see you. Our new loyalty program will be even more robust, by the way… so stay tuned for updates!

p.s. TJ’s used to have other locations that were bought by other people. We’ve heard that they aren’t allowing you to use your points at their re-branded stores. But don’t worry – you can still use them at our stores in Portland and Eugene!

Q: What is your vision for the new and improved TJ’s?

A: We know that connoisseurs already depend on us to deliver top quality products, and we want to do even better. We’re looking to make TJ’s the obvious choice for top-of-the-line cannabis, but without the pricing markups you typically find at boutique shops.

The greatest compliment we receive is when the budtenders from all other dispensaries around us come here to shop for their cannabis, even though they receive employee discounts at their own stores. When we hear, “Yeah I work at ___, but I only shop here – I don’t want to smoke their flower…” we know we have a responsibility to uphold! We’ll be working with farms and suppliers to make sure we have access to the most anticipated strains in the state, and that the shelf life of products in our store never puts it at risk for decreased quality or potency.  You may notice some last-chance inventory sales coming up as we hit reset.

Q: What can flower connoisseurs expect from the shop?

A: Motivation #1: Protect the flower and treat it like the gold that it is! We want people to be able to see how many stellar flower options we have, but we also know that bringing flower out into the light comes with downsides that we need to offset. We’re on it!  You’ll soon notice new, UV protected jars for any flower that is exposed to sunlight. In Portland we’re replacing our jars completely, and in Eugene, we’re adjusting our lighting since daylight is already blocked out. In Portland, we’ve already implemented UV resistant window treatments as well to minimize effects of sunlight penetrating the store. We’re also setting new inventory standards so that only the freshest, most impressive bud will hold a coveted spot on our top shelves.

Q: Any chance we’ll see some new TJ’s merch?

A: Yes! We have designers working on mockups as we speak, and we’ll be taking pre-orders soon to make sure we order the appropriate sizes and quantities. Let your budtenders know that you’d like to get on the list for merch updates.

Q: Are TJ’s RSO & Tinctures coming back?

A: In time, we’re going to try. (See next question below for more info)

Q: Are any other TJ’s products coming back?

A: We’ve secured a processing license and are working toward acquiring a cultivation license to be able to produce our own in-house products again. Brian is a seasoned grower and operator and he can’t wait to bring his mojo into TJ’s stores – but it likely won’t be until late 2025.

Q: What’s up with the coffee? (in Portland) Is it coming back?

A: We’re trying to figure that out. If we do something with it, it will be completely different than it was last time. We’re coffee snobs ourselves, so if you’re going to do coffee, you gotta do it right. We’re surveying what it would take to get that up and running and how many people would like to see it happen. If you have an opinion, let your budtender know!
